Vacation!

I haven’t caught up on the vacation blogging yet.  Being laid off has left me a lot of time, but I find it’s really nice taking a few days to be completely lazy and doing absolutely nothing.  I do have to say, however, that I had the most amazing trip to Belize last week, and I wanted to share some pictures with you. 

We arrived on Ambergris Caye on Friday. I was terrified about the island hopper flight, but it turns out it was a beautiful trip over the Caribbean.  When you land in San Pedro, a water taxi takes you to the resort, where they are waiting for you with a Mai Tai and a smile.   

The rehearsal dinner..well..involved a congo line..so, that’s all there is to say about that

The next day was the wedding, which was right on the beach, with my dear Megan looking stunning, and everything went flawelessly

The reception was…well…basically white girls dancing. 

And then we moved to Caulker Caye, a smaller island, which is where I recommend everyone go on their next vacation.  The place is relaxed and beautiful, the people are kind and the food is amazing.  Even the stuff I could eat. Basically, when you think of an island paradise-it’s that. 

Our condo had a private dock, we were fond of swimming off of, and..uh..doing other things on at night (shhh). 

We made it to the mainland one day, where we got to see the Lamanai Mayan ruins.  The trip was very cool, and included an hour and a half trip up the New River, where we met the Howler monkeys Greedy and Shy

 

And then we got to see the temples, the High Temple I climbed  and was oh-so-proud of myself. Keep in mind-I don’t climb..anything.  That’s..like…exercise. 

Leaving the island was heartbreaking, and I hated leaving. Man oh man I wish I had known I was going to be laid off when I got home so I could have stayed longer.
